in a cinematic movie at the revealto be assured that no matter what level of creative measure you believe yourself to be; the true art comes from being apart of something more, if even just for a moment}

your task is to create a gift of either art or fiction for another participant
You will be assigned a fellow participant’s character and a prompt describing a moment or scenario from either before (Past) or after (Future) the events of the
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader (Owlcat Games) narrative
PAST: Anything set BEFORE the Rogue Trader steps foot on the Voidship.
FUTURE: Anything set AFTER the Rogue Trader completes Act 5.


You will have every opportunity to provide your creative and personal boundaries regarding what you receive and what you are willing to create
as always, your creativity and imagination will take the fore front

Can I reveal who I got as a giftee?
Short answer, no.
To keep the magic alive for everyone, we ask you to please keep your giftee secret until the designated reveal.


Is the gift exchange only for Warhammer 40K: Rogue trader??
Currently, yes.
However, there are plans in place to expand. Stay tuned.


I need to pass a message to my gifter!
Jaal is the messenger pigeon between giftee and gifter, so once assignments are done, there can always be messages exchanged. Please send a DM to Jaal for this.
Do not reach out to your giftee directly.


Why so long between Registration, Assignments, and Reveal?
The Gift Exchange by JaalCreative is a unique and ambitious event, produced by one individual—Jaal. Long gaps are to ensure participants have enough time to think about and consider what their gift will be.Additionally, production for a Gift Exchange Reveal takes approximately four to six months.


Who does what?
JAAL: Founded the Gift Exchange. Produces the cinematics, graphics, theme, events, and promotions. Manages pairings, communication and community membership. Writer of dialogue dialogue and some barks.
Voice Actor of Kassard, Vyrhale and other.THEEVILSCRIBBLER: Beloved Co-host. Jaal's biggest enabler and personal Astropath for communicating with other professionals. Writer of dialogue and a majority of gift barks.


What if I cant finish my gift on time?
Communicate this to Jaal.Firstly, no one will be mad at you—but you must communicate this to Jaal directly and be forthcoming about it, as soon as practical. Your assigned gift will be reassigned to another participant. It is Jaal's discretion if your requested gift continues to be developed.


How are the matches made?
All matches are hand-picked by Jaal, to make sure that the gifters and giftees wishes and boundaries are the best possible match.


What if I want to partake but have no idea what I want?
Great! How exciting. Now Jaal gets to dig deeper into your characters backstory and create a prompt that you will love.


Can I create/receive a NSFW (i.e., gore, nudity, other) gift?
Yes! You will have a chance throughout this sign up sheet to declare and define both your gift & assignment boundaries.

Can I enter the Exchange more than once?
If an exchange has under 100 participants, yes.
if more than 100, no.


What if....
..I don't want to be paired with someone?
...I don't like a particular take on said character?
...I have hard 'no' boundaries, or my characters do?
...I have limitations on what sort of art/writing I can create?

How is this funded?
Independently; by JaalCreative and theevilscribbler.


Where can I find examples of the last gift exchange?
Currently, on the community discord or on tumblr under @rt-gift-exchange. this website will be updated shortly.


My OC is not a Rogue Trader, can I still request them?
Yes! Whether a retinue member, voidship dweller or an entirely different occupation, OCs who aren’t Rogue Traders are welcome. We only ask that they are in some form connected to the Rogue Trader CRPG, to keep the theme of the gift exchange.


Can I edit my submission form?
Yes and No. While Google Forms does not let you edit submissions after the fact, for as long as the submissions have not closed you can always pass a message to Jaal concerning any additions or changes.


I can’t make the deadline, what now?
In the name of fairness, please inform Jaal through a DM as earliest as you can, so we can reassign your giftee to one of our willing helpers, ensuring no one goes without a gift.


Are there any prohibited topics?
While we are on board with all types of tomfoolery, and are big supporters of letting your imagination run wild;
any request regarding carnal knowledge or bringing harm to children will be outright ignored.


I want to enter but am not confident in my skill level.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of skill level.

I don't have a creative bone in my body :( can i still join the community?
Yes! Our hype and character lovers keep us going!
Even if you are not creatively entuned, you can join our community and partake in our many interactive events.
